VIA Terrazzo is easy to maintain and clean. Use VIA soft soap or tile soap. Cleaning with a re-greasing soap not only leaves the floor clean, but also creates a beautiful and protective patina. Coarser dirt can be removed from terrazzo with a "Glitzi" sponge and scouring powder, for example, or with the so-called "cleaning stone". Acidic cleaners such as vinegar or citric acid should be avoided.
Soft Soap
Any cleaning process consists of cleaning and maintenance. As with other calcareous surfaces, acids roughen the surface. Therefore, it is important that the cleaning effect is not achieved with acidic cleaners, but with alkaline, slightly re-greasing cleaners.
VIA soft soap will give your floor the daily care it needs.
Traditionally, terrazzo floors have been cleaned with a re-greasing soft soap - soft soap helps to maintain the floor by naturally re-greasing it.
Scrubbing powder can also be used to remove coarse dirt.
Polishing pads
Protection and impregnation are limited. It is best to remove stains immediately. If a stain has indeed been caused by prolonged exposure to, for example, lemon juice, red wine, tomatoes, etc., polishing with a diamond pad may help to conceal the stain.
Diamond polishing pads can be used to polish the surface to the desired shine. Even floors that are a century old can be refurbished. Diamond polishing pads are floor cleaning discs with countless microscopic diamonds that mechanically clean and polish the floor using only water.
To polish even older floors, the VIA Online Shop offers matching sets of polishing pads with different grit sizes:
Important:
Please ensure that the pads are mounted on the correct side of the machine! The labelled side must face upwards.
The surface must be moistened, the pads have no polishing effect when used dry.
VIA polishing pads can be found in the Online Shop under Accessories.
